What I Hope Happens In This Michigan Scandal

I am a massive Ohio State Buckeyes football fan. I go to games, I watch games, I tape games, I study games, and I never sit down during games! This is one of the reasons I hate the Michigan Wolverines. I love college football and there is nothing better than Saturdays in the fall. I love to watch OSU win and I love to watch UM lose. This potential sign stealing scandal has taken the football world by storm and it just adds more intrigue by the minute. I personally can’t wait until this is all over and we get back to football on the field, and I personally can’t wait to see what happens with it all. I do know as a Buckeyes fan what I’d like to see happen for sure!

A few years ago when Ohio State was just mopping the floor with Michigan, year after year after year after year, I made the comment that we all need to be careful as the greatest rivalry in all of sport was in danger of not being a rivalry at all. Too much domination is only a good thing for a little while. I hated that we had to lose to them, but what it did was reinvigorate that very rivalry. We all needed that, the fans, the schools, and the sport. This back and forth is one of the things that make this rivalry so fun and there wasn’t much of that for YEARS. It was just us shitting all over them and they only had the 1940’s to respond with. Now they have something again. That’s fun! What I want to happen with this “scandal” is I hope none of it is true. I hope it isn’t true so no one gets in trouble. I hope it isn’t true so we can go back to just simply having the rivalry and not any bullshit on the side. I don’t want them suspended or kicked out of anything. I want them to live on so the rivalry can live on. We should all want it to live on, because rivalries make sports more fun than anything else about them. I want to make it clear that IF they did do what is out there, the penalties need to come and come strong. I want none of this to be true and I want them to talk that shit until we beat them again. I’m over 40 years old and for the majority of my life the Ohio State fanbase has gotten to talk that shit, and now it is their turn. I want this to go away so we can go and get our turn back, to do it again, whenever that day comes. Let’s get back to having fun going back and forth, and not wish the ultimate demise of a program that makes up half of THE GAME.
