The Further Away From the Line, the Worse You Are

There’s always a “line.” In an argument there is a right and a left. In-between the right and the left is the line. The further away from the line you get, usually, the worse you are. When it comes to a sports argument, religion, or politics, there’s a line. There can be a million different arguments or discussions in any of those subjects, but the only things that stay are a left, a right, and the line that separates them. In this particular instance, because it is the most heated at this moment in time in the country we will use the political line. For the most part it is the Democrats on the left and the Republicans on the right. You can still disagree and respect each other being on different sides. This usually happens when one side can discuss their belief on their side, listen to the same on the other, and walk away respectfully agreeing to disagree. However, what we are all seeing is people ON BOTH SIDES are starting to move further away from that line and becoming buried far away into their side. Usually when this happens respect for the other person goes out the window, willingness to listen leaves, and emotion becomes so thick that it clouds the intelligence of the person fully engulfed in their emotion. This makes you a radical. Radicals are usually a detriment to common sense and humanity. A definition of a radical is, “advocating or based on thorough or complete political or social change; representing or supporting an extreme or progressive section of a political party.” The smart, unemotional people who aren’t easy to manipulate realize that both sides need a little bit of what each other is selling. All of one side or the other would be catastrophic to the whole system. I like to think I’m extremely close to the line in this aspect. There are some things I lean more right on, then there are other things I lean more left on. None of those things I’m a complete radical on, because I stay unemotional on subjects of the matter, and am willing to listen to people and their points of views. For the people who are reading and probably getting butt-hurt on this, respectfully listening to other sides points of views doesn’t mean I’m going to change mine, but being able to have an unemotional conversation without belittling them or their views so my willingness to learn and accept different people. If you can’t at least listen, you’re the actual problem and the world would be a better place without you. YOU are actually halting the idea of working together and you are actually halting humanity. I say again, the further away from the line you get, the worse you are; the worse we all are. In my 40 years of life, I’ve never seen us so disconnected with each other and uncaring for the other. This all started at this level in my eyes around 2018-2019. If you’re pointing the finger at the other said of the line, I’m here to tell you it is because of BOTH SIDES. Attitude reflects leadership. Do better.
