NFL: Predicting the 2024 NFC South

The Pro Football Hall of Fame festivities have begun in Canton, Ohio. That is the unofficial beginning to the upcoming NFL football season. With the preseason right around the corner, it was time for us to start the series of predicting each division and their winner from both the NFC and the AFC. We have already done the NFC West, and now we are moving on to the NFC South, which to me is like trying to pick the shiniest piece of crap in the yard.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – These guys have taken this division the last three years and I don’t see that changing this season. Baker has found his home and it is a good spot for him to be a middle of the road Quarterback in this league that can get you some good wins.

Atlanta Falcons – I think the Falcons come in at a close second in the division this year. They are going with Kirk Cousins as he has the veteran leadership to help teach and lead this team in a way the previous guys couldn’t. I still don’t think it is enough to pull ahead of the Bucs, but I do love the young guys they have brought in on this roster, and if they hit earlier than expected, I could easily be wrong.

New Orleans Saints – Derek Carr will be under center, and he is a capable QB that can win you some games and can take the pressure off of the run game when that is the defenses scheme to target. The end of last year gave Carr and New Orleans some hope, but that defense and pass rush are going to have to flip their impact from last year to even think about competing for the NFC South.

Carolina Panthers – Bryce Young could only go up…right? Anything would be better than what we’ve seen from him thus far. However, it isn’t all his fault as he’s had a major lack in real weapons to work with. He is going to have to make real strides no matter what, or the Panthers will continue to be at the bottom of the barrel, and unfortunately, I expect them to finish at the bottom yet again.
