Shocking news out of the NBA and California! Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green has been suspended indefinitely after his arm swinging punch to the side of the head of Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic. Wait… that isn’t shocking news. Green is suspended more often than he scores a basket. He is now second on the all-time list of suspensions in NBA history behind only Rasheed Wallace. This all poses the question, “What to do with Draymond Green long-term?” In almost every other business and industry, you get warnings or some sort of written warning and then if you reoffend again or multiple times again, you get fired. Now, I don’t think they are going to “fire” Green, but something bigger needs done as this is getting so normal that something very bad is eventually going to happen. One of these times he is going to hit or kick someone and cause serious damage to someone’s career, if not end it. Then, regardless of what you think, a lawsuit against the NBA will ensue as they have shown they don’t care about the safety of their players.
I think he needs suspended for a full year and he needs to get help. I don’t know if it is a mental illness, anger issues, or just plain stupidity, but Draymond Green has some serious mental problems. He then gets up to the podium and talks to all of us like he thinks we are stupid. He’s not even a “villain” anymore. He is more just this moron people are starting to feel sorry for, especially inside the NBA circle. During that year off he needs to pass an anger management course. He needs to be tested for mental issues and go to counseling for the duration of the suspension at the least. The amount of repeated history he has is staggering and the fact that he has gotten away with it with just simple slaps on the wrist is concerning for all involved. Another thing that’ll happen someday if this isn’t fixed correctly is somebody is going to put him in the hospital for a long time. He isn’t as tough as he portrays on the court which is why they are all cheap shots and not toe-to-toe shots like a real man would. The real tough guys in this league would put him in a body bag, especially if they think he’s trying to really hurt them. The NBA better fix it before someone fixes him.
He’s been an absolute embarrassment for the league, for the Warriors, for his friends, and for his family. It is time to put this to bed once and for all and make an example out of him for the future fake tough guys in this league. If the league continues to allow him to just take a day or two here and there after assaulting someone and I was an opposing coach, I’d put a real goon who’s on his way out of the league anyway into the game to end his career. It is worth burying one for the greater good of many, and he isn’t worth having around just for this. Give this idiot a year suspension.
