If you’ve paid any attention to the NBA over the years, especially during the LeBron James era, you’ve seen this story before. The National Basketball Association has never been short on the “Dillon Brooks type.” A player that isn’t really known by someone outside of his team and their fanbase that wants to make a name for themselves in the league, and couldn’t do it with talent, so they decided to chirp, get mouthy with a major star, and sometimes take it too far. With LBJ specifically we’ve seen this multiple times. A lot of you may remember the likes of Lance Stephenson of the Indiana Pacers who was caught blowing in the ear of James during a game. He was eventually discarded of by LeBron and his team. The other one that really comes to mind is back around 2008 when Washington Wizards player DeShawn Stevenson started a beef with LeBron and was eventually discarded off also.
The NBA has always had personalities like this. The following are far more skilled than Brooks though. Draymond Green, Bill Laimbeer, Meta World Peace(Ron Artest), and Dennis Rodman to name a few. The difference is here isn’t a single skillset of Dillon’s that even the casual fan says, “yep, there it is, there’s the reason he’s in the league.” He’s the least talented shit talker in NBA history and he’ll be set down soon too. What makes him even worse is he made those outrageous comments and then when he got clapped backed on, he didn’t want to talk to the media. It shows he’s a true coward, weak-minded, and spineless. His demise can’t come soon enough for everyone who’s had to watch this clown for far longer than we should have. A closing note; only Dennis Rodman would still be great at what he does no matter where he’d play. The rest listed in the article were successful based off of circumstance. They would all be a lot less in different places.
