JayBird Talks: Top-30 Favorite TV Shows #9-1

We decided to share with the world, whether they care or not, the JayBird Talks favorite TV shows of all-time in a three part series countdown. These are favorites, not a ranking of the best of all-time, so you’ll most certainly have yours that are in a vastly different order. We started last week with numbers 19 through 10 on our list. You can read that here. If you need to see the first part of numbers 30-20, you can see that, here. Below are numbers 9-1 as we finish this three part series up today.

#9 – Family Guy – An animated comedy sitcom. This show was created by Seth MacFarlane and centers around the Griffins. They are dysfunctional family based in Rhode Island. People always ask me to describe it in my own words. Some of you won’t like this, but here goes. An adult cartoon with a fat shitty father, a masturbating teenage son, an attractive housewife that should be with a better family, a loser teenage daughter, and infant baby genius who wants to destroy the world who is bi-sexual and may or may not want to kill his mother and is best friends with the family dog Brian. Brian is a pretentious dog who has sex with human characters, so beastiality is also a common occurrence in the show. It follows them through their everyday life including their wheelchair bound cop neighbor, black friend neighbor, and another neighbor who is addicted to sleeping with everything he can get his hands on.

#8 – Dexter – American crime drama series. It follows a forensic tech specializing in blood spatter patterns. This fictional show has Dexter working for the Miami Metro Police Department while also being a serial killer.

#7 – Sons of Anarchy – An action crime drama series. It is centered around an illegal motorcycle club operating in a fictional town in California. They are a tight-knit group and it follows their ups and downs through a life of crime, family, love, and loyalty. It even had a real outlaw biker help with the certain aspects of that world as a technical advisor.

#6 – The Sopranos – An American crime drama series. The series revolves around Tony Soprano, an Italian-American mobster in New Jersey. It follows him around as he works through being a family man, a crime boss, and anything else including his therapy sessions.

#5 – Ozarks – A crime drama TV series that debuted strictly for Netflix. A married couple is all but forced to move to the Land of the Ozarks from Chicago to help a Mexican drug cartel launder money to attempt to keep themselves and their children safe from retribution.

#4 – Mad Men – A period drama series. It follows a fictional advertising agency in Manhattan, New York and uses the term “Mad Men” which was what they called 1950’s advertisers working on Madison Avenue. It starts out by following mostly character Don Draper played by Jon Hamm as the most talented creative director at the firm.

#3 – King of Queens – It is a comedy sitcom starring Kevin James and Leah Remini as a married couple in Queens, New York. They are a working class couple in Regos Park. It follows their day-to-day life with their friends, their careers, and their in-laws.

#2 – Billions – A Showtime drama series taking place in New York and Connecticut. Hedge fund manager Bobby Axelrod continues to build wealth and uses his team to take out anyone in his way in the world of high finance. His aggressive tactics get the attention of a US Attorney for the Southern District of New York as he now wants to take down Axelrod for finance crimes.

#1 – Suits – A legal drama series set in New York at fictional New York law firm who specialize in Corporate law. Harvey Specter the firms and the city’s best closer hires non-Harvard grad with no law degree Mike Ross who has a photographic memory. They duck and dodge getting exposed all while solving high profile and high dollar cases for their clients while keeping a former partner from coming back and taking their firm back. They must hide their secret while continuing to win. This is absolutely my favorite show of all-time with the previously mentioned Billions coming in a very close second.
