JayBird Talks Hands Out His NBA Season Awards

The regular season has officially ended on the 2022-23 NBA season. The playoffs have begun and the NBA regular season awards are upon us. JayBird Talks decided to throw a few together himself for the three major awards. Let’s start with the NBA Rookie of the Year.

Rookie of the Year:

WINNER: Paolo Banchero of the Orlando Magic. I also had Jalen Williams from the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Utah Jazz rookie Walker Kessler in the running.

Defensive Player of the Year:

WINNER: Brook Lopez of the Milwaukee Bucks. In a close second and third I had the Cleveland Cavaliers star Evan Mobley, and Jaren Jackson Jr from the Memphis Grizzlies.

Most Valuable Player:

WINNER: The Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid gets his flowers from us! Defending MVP award winner of the Denver Nuggets, Nikola Jokic finishes second on our list. Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks sits at three. Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers is fourth on our list, because he definitely deserved some attention after the year he’s had and the impact he’s made with that Cavs team. Jayson Tatum from the Boston Celtics rounds out at fifth on our list as he’s also had an MVP type season.
