CFB: The 3 JayBird Talks Week 2 Headlines
“The Colorado Buffaloes Are Not A Fluke” – We watched them take the college football nation by storm in week one by upsetting TCU. If anyone thought there would be a letdown of any kind as Primetime and his boys had their home opener against Nebraska in Boulder were sadly mistaken. They handled the Cornhuskers by the tune of 36-14 as they have catapulted themselves into the top 25.
“Texas Longhorn Football Is In-Fact BACK!” – It has been the running joke for years now. Every time Texas falls to any kind of team, we hear “Texas is in-fact NOT back.” After week 2 in Tuscaloosa, I think we can put that to rest as the Longhorns went on the road and did something not many can do. They beat Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide in their house. Quinn Ewers and company did something even more rare. They beat Bama by double digits at Bryant-Denny Stadium with a final of 34-24.
“College Football Blue Bloods Are All Over the AP Top 10” – The sports historically elite are peppered all over this week’s top poll. The back-to-back defending National Champs, the Georgia Bulldogs still sit at number one, Michigan and Florida State at two and three respectively. Now we go deeper as the Texas Longhorns moved into the number four spot and USC round out the top five. Ohio State and Penn State at six and seven, with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Alabama still rounding out the top ten at nine and ten themselves. I always say the sport is always better when all these teams are great!
