CFB: The 3 JayBird Talks Week 10 Headlines

  1. “Army Strong-arms & Shocks Unbeaten Air Force” – When it comes to rivalry games, you just never know. When it comes to the Service Academies, that is ramped up even more. This was seen this past weekend as Army sitting at 2-6 walked in and walked all over 8-0 Air Force by the tune of 23-3, knocking AF out of the ranks of the undefeated.

  2. “Oklahoma State Takes Bedlam Finale” – With the Oklahoma Sooners heading to the SEC next year, this was the final year for Bedlam against the two Oklahoma teams. The Cowboys took full advantage of the overrated OU squad who had been brought down to Earth by Kansas the week before. Ok State walked away in the final edition of the rivalry game with a 27-24 victory. Can OU really compete in the SEC at a high level like they could in the Big 12? Doubt it.

  3. “USC Falls Out of Top-25 & Fires DC Grinch” – The Trojans fall continues as they lost to #5 Washington 52-42 in their home stadium. That puts them on the losing end of 3 of their last 4 games. They are completely out of the running for the College Football Playoffs and star QB Caleb Williams is all but out of the running to be the second back-to-back Heisman winner in history. All of this has led them to drop out of the Top-25 for the first time under Head Coach Lincoln Riley. A few days after the loss to the Huskies, the Trojans decided to finally fire Defensive Coordinator Alex Grinch. A lot of boosters and fans have been calling for his job lately as USC has given up major points pretty much all season. They’ve given up less than 28 points only twice all year. Recently the SC defense had given up 52, 49, 34, 48, 41, and 41 in their last six games. It was time to part ways with Grinch, and rightfully so.
